Light Therapy
What Is Light Therapy & How Does It Work?
Light Therapy helps compromised cells obtain the energy to regain and restore vitality naturally. Its powerful, and deep penetrating wavelengths are absorbed by photo-acceptors in the mitochondria.
This process increases the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) ― the fuel that drives all cells and gives us energy.
This boost of cellular energy results in a cascade of metabolic events leading to an increase in micro-circulation tissue repair decrease in inflammation and pain.
Research has shown that “Light therapy is a beneficial treatment for improving the healing of skin wounds.” This therapy triggers biological effects such as decreasing inflammatory cells, promoting fibroblast growth (the repair and regeneration of tissue), encouraging angiogenesis (the growth of blood vessels from your current vasculature), forming granulation tissue (new connective tissue), and boosting collagen production (a protein in the body found in skin, hair, nails, bones, and many other body systems).
Before & Afters
Common Uses For Light Therapy
- Acne
- Wrinkles
- Arthritic Pain
- Muscle Spasm
- Hair Restoration
- Muscle & Joint Pain
- Muscle Tissue Tension
- Decrease Inflammation
- Increase Micro-Circulation
- Sports Injuries
Light therapy can be used as a powerful stand-alone or add-on to most spa-menu services. For maximum benefit, a 30-minute treatment is recommended. Always use over clean, dry skin as lotions, creams and serums may decrease effectiveness by restricting light penetration.
