Thermography Screening
Thermography is one of the best tools for detecting inflammation, which is key because inflammation is often a precursor to disease. Thermography can also identify dysfunction and injury within the body. It does this by taking several scans that provide a temperature map of your body with a digital infrared camera.
At Rapha Health & Wellness, we offer breast scans as well as full or half body scans for the detection of many conditions. Thermography can assist in diagnosis and treatment as well as help monitor therapy progress.
Thermography is painless and radiation free. It is a wonderful tool to use for detecting health problems at a very early stage, but it’s also an important tool for prevention. It is a great way to perform your yearly physical! Watch the videos to the right to see how thermography screening is beneficial and how it’s different than a mammogram.
Thermography is commonly used for:
- Artery Inflammation
- Arthritis
- Breast Disease
- Back injuries
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy)
- Dental
- Digestive Disorders
- Disc Disease
- Fibromyalgia
- Headaches
- Inflammatory Pain
- Nerve Damage
- Referred Pain Syndrome
- Skin Cancer
- Sports Injuries
- Sprain/Strain
- Stress fractures
- Stroke Screening
- TMJ
- Unexplained pain
- Vascular Disease
- Whiplash
Many times, these conditions and injuries are not detected with x-ray or other diagnostic tools. X-ray and CT, as well as ultrasound and MRI, are all tests of “anatomy” that measure the structures in your body. DITI is unique in its capability to show physiological change and metabolic processes.
Breast Cancer Screening
Using Thermography to Detect Abnormal Breast Tissue
There are many tools and procedures in order to detect breast cancer. Using a non-invasive option like thermography is an effective breast cancer screening tool. Rapha Health and Wellness uses thermography as an early detection of abnormalities in breast tissue.
Thermography Screening Procedure
When we see clients for thermography, first we consult with you about your family history, any prior health conditions, medications or any other screening methods you have done in the past. An effective screening is able to get an image of the breast, but also other areas in the body to see if there may be areas of inflammation. We offer several different screening options including full body, half body and breast scans.
Thermography and Mammography
Thermography and mammography are both well-known tools for assessing and monitoring breast health. Thermography differs from mammography in several ways, one major difference being that it is non-invasive and free of radiation.
Breast thermography screening is an adjunctive test to mammography, ultrasound, and MRI and is a specialized physiological test designed to detect angiogenesis, hyperthermia from nitric oxide, estrogen dominance, lymph abnormality and inflammatory processes including inflammatory breast disease, all of which cannot be detected with structural tests.
Cancer screening technology has evolved dramatically over the years and can be vital in the early detection of breast cancer.
It’s always a good idea to speak with your primary care physician or doctor about breast screening and treatment options. We are happy to work in conjunction with your other healthcare providers and we do this regularly for our clients.
We encourage you to begin your annual thermography screening at an early age, especially if you have a family history of breast cancer. Thermography is a great tool for detecting any abnormality in the body and it is optimal when you have several scans to compare to. We look at thermography as an effective and informational annual physical.
